Moray Council invites applications for a part-time Lunchtime Supervisor at Portknockie Primary School to oversee pupils on the school premises during lunch. The role requires direct supervision in the dining area and may include playground supervision, with duties assigned by the Head Teacher.
You should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather, able to engage with children, and work well as part of a team or on your own initiative. PVG clearance is required; closing date 18 September 2026.
To provide supervision of children remaining on school premises during the lunch period.
This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
Supervision of pupils on the school premises during the lunchtime interval in particular within the school dining area.
General supervision within the time available as required which may include playground supervision.
Such other duties as determined by the Head Teacher.
Knowledge of and experience with children of school age.
Ability to get on well with young children.
Ability to communicate effectively with children and staff.
Able to engage and interact with children.
Friendly but firm.
Genuinely interested in children.
Willing to work as a team and on own initiative.
Able to work outdoors in all weather.

7.5 Hours per week (term time only)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 30 mins morning break & 1 hours lunchtime cover
