Royal Mail is hiring a Postie in Pontyclun for a 6-month fixed-term contract, 30 hours per week with some Sunday work. You will sort mail, deliver by van and on foot in the local area, and engage with customers while working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Training is provided, including a uniform and an iconic red van. A full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) and the ability to pass a driving assessment are required, along with reliability and strong organisational skills.

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.Working hours: 30:00hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work one in four Sundays at Pontypridd Delivery Office.

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
