Job summary

The Royal Kent School in Oxshott, Surrey, seeks an enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to support children in Nursery and Reception with Special Educational Needs. The role is 1:1 or small group work, including lunchtime supervision and overseeing play.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
  • Experience of working with children with special educational needs (SEN) preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Strong communication with children and adults.
  • Comfort with using classroom technology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to children with SEN in Nursery and Reception.
  • Support children at lunchtime by supervising play and meals.
  • Assist with moving between activities and transitions throughout the day.
  • Support safeguarding and welfare of children in line with school policies.

The Royal Kent School is a happy and high achieving one form entry primary school in Oxshott, Surrey. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and resilient SEN Learning Support Assistant to support children in Nursery and Reception with Special Educational Needs. This will be on a 1:1 or small group basis. The role will also include supporting children at lunchtime through overseeing play along with supervising pupils whilst they have their meals. The hours are 8.40am - 3.15pm, Monday to Friday.This is a temporary appointment linked to pupil funding which is expected to last at least a year.We can offer:

What we are looking for:

GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.

Experience of working with children with special educational needs, although not a pre-requisite

A proven ability to work on own initiative.

A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.

The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.

The desire to contribute to a dynamic and inspiring school environment
