Job summary

Hunter Selection Limited is seeking two multi-skilled shift engineers with an electrical bias for a growing industrial processing business in the UK. You will maintain fully automated production and packaging machinery, boilers and site services, with a focus on PLCs, HMI and SCADA systems.

The role requires strong fault-finding skills and experience in fast-paced FMCG environments, plus NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or time-served apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or time-served apprenticeship.
• Experience in FMCG manufacturing environments is essential.
• Electrical bias with strong fault-finding skills across PLCs and control panels.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance of automated production & packaging machinery and site services.
• Maintain steam & boiler systems as part of plant operations.
• Work on PLCs, HMs, SCADA systems and control panels; perform electrical fault finding and modifications.

Our client is an industrial processing business, part of a larger group, with multiple sites in the United Kingdom. Due to an increase in headcount within their engineering team, they are looking for 2 multi-skilled shift engineers, with an electrical bias.

Role & Responsibilities of a Shift Engineer:

• To carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, installation, improvement and modification or upgrade of plant, fully automated production & packaging machinery and site services.
• Steam & boiler system maintenance
• Follow PPM schedules efficiently & effectively
• Electrical fault finding & modifications of PLC's, HMi's, SCADA Systems and Control Panels
• Mechanical repair and fault finding
• Working on hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, contactors, inverters, sensors, drives, valves
• PLC - electrical fault finding

Knowledge, Skills & Experience needed to be a Shift Engineer:

• Multi-Skilled Engineers - but must be electrically biased
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering - Time-served Apprenticeship
• Excellent problem solving & fault diagnosis skills
• Knowledge of production environment, continuous improvements & development
• Both strong electrical & mechanical fault finding and repair skills
• Must have worked in fast-paced environment - FMCG manufacturing/production
• Have experience of working on boilers & steam systems advantageous
• Worked on PLC systems, Control Panels, HMi's & SCADA Systems
