Job summary

Manpower UK Limited is recruiting a prison escort to support HMP Durham and HMP Frankland. You will escort contractors and personnel, check in, and uphold safety and security standards during planned and minor works.

Responsibilities include vehicle access, tool-list reviews, internal movement authorisation, and monitoring PPE and sign-ins. Candidates should be calm under pressure and flexible to shifts.

Responsibilities

• Escort contractors and personnel on and off-site.
• Verify ID, assist with check-in, and ensure documentation is in order.
• Manage contractor vehicle access where required.
• Review contractors' tool lists to ensure compliance.
• Obtain authorisation for contractor movement within the facility.
• Track sign-in/out, check PPE use, and report concerns.
• Maintain safety communications and assist in emergencies.

Job description

Shift pattern: 37 hours per week. Monday- Friday between 7.30am and 4.30pm

Hourly rate: £13.45 Per Hour, increasing to upwards of £23.54 with overtime.

As a prison escort, you'll be responsible for

escorting contractors and personnel on and off-site, enabling them to complete planned and minor works while upholding the highest safety and security standards.

Key responsibilities

Escort contractors: Ensure contractors are safely guided to and from work areas, maintaining compliance at all times.

Contractor check-in: Verify ID, assist with check-in, and ensure all documentation is in order.

Vehicle access: Manage contractor vehicle entry where required.

Equipment review: Check contractors' tool lists to ensure compliance.

Internal movement: Obtain authorisation for contractor movement within the facility.

Monitor compliance: Track sign-in/out, check PPE use, and report any concerns.

Health & safety: Maintain communication via radio, follow safety protocols, and assist in emergencies.

What you need
