Job summary

Manpower UK Limited is seeking prison escorts at HMP Channings Wood to support safety and security within the justice system. You will escort contractors and personnel on and off-site, ensuring compliance and smooth movement.

The role requires calm under pressure, clear communication, and attention to detail. DBS check and photo ID are mandatory, with shifts 4 days a week and pay from £13.70 per hour, rising with overtime to £23.97.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Escort contractors to and from work areas, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Verify ID and assist with contractor check-in and documentation.
• Manage contractor vehicle entry where required.
• Check contractors' tool lists for compliance.
• Obtain authorisation for contractor movement within the facility.
• Monitor sign-in/out, PPE usage, and report any concerns.
• Maintain health and safety communications and assist in emergencies.

Shift pattern:37 hours per week - working 4 days over the week Monday - Friday Day shifts, between 7.15am and 5.30pm

Pay rate:£13.70 per hour, increasing to upwards of £23.97 per hour with overtime.

As a prison escort, you'll be responsible for

escorting contractors and personnel on and off-site, enabling them to complete planned and minor works while upholding the highest safety and security standards.

Key responsibilities

Escort contractors: Ensure contractors are safely guided to and from work areas, maintaining compliance at all times.

Contractor check-in: Verify ID, assist with check-in, and ensure all documentation is in order.

Vehicle access: Manage contractor vehicle entry where required.

Equipment review: Check contractors' tool lists to ensure compliance.

Internal movement: Obtain authorisation for contractor movement within the facility.

Monitor compliance: Track sign-in/out, check PPE use, and report any concerns.

Health & safety: Maintain communication via radio, follow safety protocols, and assist in emergencies.
