Job summary

Powys County Council is seeking an Assistant Youth Worker to help run Newtown youth clubs and projects. The role supports the Senior Youth Worker and focuses on providing informal and non-formal learning opportunities for young people, while upholding confidentiality and safeguarding norms.

The position requires an Enhanced DBS check and is offered on a part-time, on-site basis in Newtown, with a pro rata salary of £25,949 per year. Posting closes early October 2026.

To assist the Senior Youth Worker and/or Youth Worker with the overall running of youth clubs/ projects, its performance and the young people who attend.

What you will do

Support the delivery of open access youth clubs in the delegated youth centre to ensure young people have access to a range of informal and non-formal learning opportunities which responds to the youth work CASH curriculum and Principles and Purposes of youth work in Wales.

This position has a requirement for an Enhanced DBS Check
