Job summary

Veolia is seeking a site operations role at Siemens Energy's Parsons Works site in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will manage daily operations, conduct risk assessments, safety briefings and RAMS, while ensuring compliance and effective waste management on site.

The role requires IT literacy, knowledge of waste legislation, and IOSH Managing Safely, with a FLT counterbalance license. The position offers 40 hours per week, with generous leave and benefits from Veolia.

• IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
• FLT licence: B1 counterbalance, up to 5 tonnes.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily site operations, including risk assessments, safety briefings and RAMS compliance.
• Check plant, equipment and fuel use; report defects and maintain stock.
• Coordinate waste collections, segregation, storage, inspections and documentation.
• Deliver toolbox talks, maintain training records and support audit and reporting requirements.
• Act as the main site contact for waste queries, supporting stakeholders and service improvements.

Salary: up to £33,100 per annum plus Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week, Mon - Fri 7.30am to 4pm

• Act as the main site contact for waste queries, supporting stakeholders, service improvements and the Contract Manager.

What we're looking for:

• IT literate, with the ability to use Google software confidently.
• Experience of waste management and relevant legislation.
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
• Knowledge of permits to work, risk assessments and method statements.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to ongoing learning.
• FLT licence: B1 counterbalance, up to 5 tonnes.
