Job summary

F.I.R.E. Consultancy Ltd seeks a Senior Fire Engineer to join during a period of growth. You will manage and mentor engineers, support team development and deliver high-quality technical work.

You will develop fire safety strategies, carry out fire risk assessments, perform bespoke fire engineering (first principles), and support performance-based designs with modelling, risk and cost-benefit analysis. Site visits and training participation are expected.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc/PhD in engineering or science.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to lead technical work while developing others.

Responsibilities

• Produce fire safety strategies, fire risk assessments and bespoke fire engineering.

We are looking for a Senior Fire Engineer to support the business during a period of substantial growth. The successful candidate will manage and mentor engineers, support team development and contribute to high-quality technical delivery.

You will be expected to produce your own fire safety strategies, fire risk assessments, bespoke fire engineering (first principles), performance-based designs supported by fire and evacuation modelling, risk analysis and cost benefit analysis as appropriate. This will include site visit attendance and a level of commitment to training programmes no different to other staff except working at a more technical level.

This role is suitable for someone with a BSc, MSc or PhD in an engineering or science subject who has completed at least 5 years’ relevant experience and can lead technical work while supporting the development of others.

This is an exciting opportunity to implement the principle of fire science to the built environment.
