Job summary

Skills 4 Pharmacy is seeking enthusiastic Trainee Pharmacy Technician Apprentices to undertake a GPhC-accredited qualification and the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) Apprenticeship. You will learn under the Practice Supervisor across dispensing, record-keeping and patient counselling.

The role offers Monday–Friday 9:00–17:30 with weekends off. GCSEs in Maths/English are preferred, with on-site training and potential for future full-time employment upon successful completion.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English desired but not essential as training may be provided.
• Pharmacy Level 2 preferred.
• Willingness to learn and develop pharmacy skills.
• Training to be provided: Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) Level 3.

Responsibilities

• Accurate dispensing of prescribed items
• Accurate record keeping; receiving and checking medication requests
• Handing out prescriptions and counselling patients
• Accuracy checking of items dispensed by others
• Ordering, receiving, maintaining and supplying pharmaceutical stock
• Medicines optimisation activities including drug history taking and medicines reconciliation

Exhibits enthusiasm and commitment to learning and self-development To undertake training and prove competence in pharmaceutical duties under the

direction of the Practice Supervisor in each section including:

Accurate dispensing of prescribed items

Accurate record keeping o Receiving and checking the validity of medication requests e.g. prescriptions

Handing out prescriptions and counselling patients on the use of their medicines

Accuracy checking of prescribed items dispensed by others

Ordering, receiving, maintaining and supplying pharmaceutical stock

Medicines optimisation activities including drug history taking, medicines reconciliation, patient own drugs checks and advanced patient counselling

Working Week

Monday to Friday 9am -5.30pm closed weekends

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Skills Required
