Skills 4 Pharmacy is hiring a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to join a busy pharmacy team in the United Kingdom. The role supports safe, effective supply of medicines and close collaboration with pharmacists while progressing towards registration as a Pharmacy Technician.

The apprenticeship is Level 3 (equivalent to A-levels), with training delivered through a blended approach alongside your job. The working week runs Monday to Friday, with weekend rest as noted by the employer.

  • Supervising and supporting pharmacy staff as you progress.
  • Assisting with training and mentoring new staff.

About the role

As a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you will support the safe, effective and lawful supply of medicines while working closely with pharmacists and the wider healthcare team. We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to join a busy pharmacy team. This role is ideal for someone looking to progress within pharmacy and develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a registered Pharmacy Technician.

Key responsibilities
  • Managing, ordering, receiving and supplying medicines and pharmaceutical products safely and accurately
  • Providing person‑centred advice to patients on prescription and over‑the‑counter medicines, referring to healthcare professionals where appropriate
  • Supporting the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, including business processes, stock control and clinical governance
  • Supervising and supporting pharmacy support staff as you progress in the role
  • Assisting with training and mentoring new members of staff
  • Maintaining high standards through auditing, evaluating services and responding to feedback

Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship (equivalent to A‑level)

On successful completion, you will be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

Training delivered through a blended learning approach alongside your job

Working Week

Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 6:30pm, with Thursday closing at 6:00pm, and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Skills Required
  • A keen interest in pharmacy and healthcare.
  • Previous experience in the pharmacy industry or similar.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • The willingness to learn and develop your skills and knowledge.
