Job summary

I & F Limited (T/A Skills4Group) in Morpeth is seeking enthusiastic candidates to start a Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship. You will work within a community pharmacy team, learning to dispense accurately and support patient care under supervision.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.
• For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests.

Responsibilities

• Accurate dispensing of prescribed items under supervision.
• Accurate record keeping and checking validity of medication requests.
• Handing out prescriptions and counselling patients on medicine use.
• Medicines optimisation activities including drug history taking and reconciliation.

Job description

Working Week: Monday to Friday 9am -5.30pm closed weekends

Brief Description

To work within a community pharmacy team. Your role is to ensure safe handling of patients care and medication is accurately prepared and dispensed amongst the team.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.
For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Skills Required

• A keen interest in pharmacy and healthcare.
• Previous experience in the pharmacy industry or similar.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Handing out prescriptions and counselling patients on the use of their medicines
Accuracy checking of prescribed items dispensed by others
Ordering, receiving, maintaining and supplying pharmaceutical stock
Medicines optimisation activities including drug history taking, medicines reconciliation, patient own drugs checks and advanced patient counselling
