F Bamford Engineering Limited in Milton Keynes specialises in custom aluminium communal doors and screens and is expanding its installation team. We are recruiting an assistant door and screen installer to join us on-site across the region, with occasional overnight stays.

You will work with an experienced team, assisting with loading, fitting, sealing and finishing new units while upholding health and safety and customer care standards.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team alongside an experienced team leader on installation projects.
• Assist in loading and unloading installation vehicles and check materials against paperwork.
• Remove existing doors, screens and windows per company procedures.
• Prepare apertures to accept new units and ensure correct fit.
• Fix new units with correct location and level, including glazing and GRP panels.
• Seal units to ensure weather-tight performance.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely on site.
• Keep the working environment clean and tidy and clear debris.
• Interact with customers, subcontractors, tenants and other trades.
• Follow company procedures and health and safety regulations, including working at height.

Installation Assistant – Communal Doors and Screens

F. Bamford (Engineering) Ltd, known in the industry as Bamford Doors, specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of custom made, aluminium communal security doors and screens.

Due to our continued growth and expansion, we are looking to recruit an assistant door and screen installer to our team in Milton Keynes.

The Role

To work with the experienced team leader as an assistant, in the installation of our bespoke aluminium communal entrance doors on a regional basis. As part of the team you will be working across customer sites, with occasional overnight stays.

Based out of our Milton Keynes Office 1 Barton Road, Bletchley, MK2 3HU

Key Responsibilities

• Working as part of a team alongside an experienced team leader


• Assist in the loading and unloading of installation vehicles ensure all materials required to complete the job are loaded safely and securely and checked against relevant paperwork


• Removal and existing doors, screen, windows as per company procedures.


• Preparation of apertures to accept the new units


• Fixing of new units, ensure correct location, level, including fitting of glazing, GRP panels, letter boxes.


• Sealing of new units to ensure they are weather tight


• Operating various hand tools and power tools


• Keeping the working environment clean and tidy including tidying up and clearing away of debris and left over materials.


• Various aspects of basic building work


• Interacting with customers, sub contractors, tenants and other trades


• Working to company procedures and health and safety regulations


• Working at height, ladders and scaffold etc

Working Hours & Pay

Full time role working hours are 08.00 - 16.45 Monday to Friday including a lunch break (40 hours per week) the hours need to be flexible to accommodate / support client needs.

Rate of pay £12.71 – 14.33 per hour depending on experience

Over time at an enhanced rate, where required to complete installations
