Job summary

UKCIL is seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant to support a young woman with autism in Leigh/Wigan. This full-time role (36 hours plus overtime) offers a range of activities, from art and nature walks to daily routines, with a strong focus on independence and meaningful connection.

You will accompany her on social and educational activities, provide light personal care when needed, and help build communication skills in a caring family setting.

Personal Assistant (PA)

FULL-Time Support Worker / Personal Assistant 36 hours plus overtime permanent contract

We are looking for a kind, reliable and enthusiastic person to support our amazing daughter – a bright, funny and creative young woman with autism and whole-body apraxia. She understands everything, has so much to say, and shines when she gets the right support.

About the Role

You Will Be Supporting With:

• Wandering around art galleries, walks in nature
• Creative, educational and leisure activities
• Communication and social interaction
• Encouraging independence and choice-making
• Days out, hobbies and personal interests
• Light support with daily routines as required

We Are Looking For Someone Who Is:

• Reliable, trustworthy and proactive
• Comfortable learning alternative communication methods
• Positive, flexible and enthusiastic

Experience in autism, disability support, psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, education, teaching assistance or care is welcomed but not essential. The right personality and attitude are most important.
