Smart Solutions (Recruitment) Limited is recruiting experienced Class 1 (HGV C+E) drivers to operate from our Leeds Cross Green depot (LS9) or Bradford depot, delivering waste materials safely and efficiently.

This long-term role runs on a 50-hour week with early starts and rotational Saturdays, offering overtime and a stable opportunity within a modern transport operation.

Qualifications

• Must hold Class 1 (HGV C+E) entitlement and previous Class 1 driving experience.
• Experience transporting waste materials is advantageous.
• Ability to plan routes and maintain logs using digital systems.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 HGV vehicles for the collection, transport, and delivery of waste materials
• Plan and follow efficient routes to maximise productivity
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report defects
• Maintain accurate records of collections, deliveries, and vehicle logs using digital systems
• Comply with all transport, safety, environmental, and Working Time Directive regulations
• Provide a professional service at all collection and delivery points

Job description

OTE: £42,874.00 (Based on an average 50-hour week)

Monday to Friday | 6:00am start | Rotational Saturdays

50-hour contract (including 1-hour unpaid break per shift)

The Role:

We are recruiting experienced Class 1 (HGV C+E) drivers to operate from either our Leeds Cross Green depot (LS9) or Bradford depot, depending on preference.

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of waste materials between various locations, supporting essential waste management operations and contributing to environmental sustainability.

This is a stable, long-term position within a modern and well-structured transport operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate Class 1 HGV vehicles for the collection, transport, and delivery of waste materials
• Plan and follow efficient routes to maximise productivity
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report defects
• Maintain accurate records of collections, deliveries, and vehicle logs using digital systems
• Comply with all transport, safety, environmental, and Working Time Directive regulations
• Provide a professional service at all collection and delivery points

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 6:00am–6:00pm
• Saturday shifts: Rotational basis
• 50-hour contract per week (including 1-hour unpaid break per shift)
• Overtime paid for hours worked over 45 per week

What We Offer:
