Job summary

TRCGroup is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 drivers (C+E) for ongoing roles in Bradford. Shifts run Mon–Sun with start times 12:00–21:00 and pay rates increasing after training. You will handle depot pulling, client site runs, loading/unloading, and trailer swaps while adhering to WTD and tachograph rules.

We require a valid UK Category CE licence, a DCPC/card, up-to-date points within limits, and strong safety and communication skills. Inductions are provided on-site for first shifts.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E).
• At least 6 months proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
• Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• No infringement points for three consecutive months.
• Flexibility to work shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times 12:00–21:00.
• Travel to local site for tacho card download before selection.
• Understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub.
• Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot.
• Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot.
• Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle.
• Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
• Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position.
• Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Bradford area. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Shifts

Shifts run across Monday to Sunday (full time or part time available or ad-hoc).

Hours

Start times any time between 12:00pm to 21:00pm (Flexibility for shift times required).

Pay Rate

• Midweek - £18.15 per hour rising to £19.15 after 12 weeks
• Midweek overtime (after 8 hours) - £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
• Saturday - £23.52 per hour rising to £24.52 after 12 weeks
• Saturday overtime (after 8 hours) - £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
• Sunday - £26.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
• Bank Holidays - £34.42 per hour rising to £35.42 after 12 weeks
