Job summary

Veolia in Knutsford is seeking a production operative to operate a dryer and produce paper bedding material for Poultry and Dairy, ensuring machines run within design parameters. You will monitor temperatures and moisture, keep records, perform routine maintenance, and assist with loading/unloading.

A background in production and forklift experience are desirable; you’ll join a team committed to safe, efficient operations.

• Experience in a production environment.
• Counterbalance, Loading shovel or JCB loader experience is desirable
• Someone used to working in a team

Responsibilities

• Operating a dryer, producing paper bedding material for Poultry and Dairy.
• Monitor and maintain the drying process ensuring all machines are operating within design parameters.
• Monitor temperatures and moisture levels to achieve optimum drying performance.
• Keep accurate records of production including waste and issues with the drying process.
• Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters and checking bearings and belts.
• Load and unload lorries and operate loading equipment.

What will you be doing?

• Operating a dryer, producing paper bedding material for Poultry and Dairy
• Monitor and maintain the drying process ensuring all machines are operating effectively within their design parameters.
• Monitor temperatures and moisture levels in feedstocks, airflows and products to achieve optimum drying performance.
• Keep accurate records of production including waste and any issues relating to the drying process
• Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters and checking bearings and belts etc.
• Load and unload lorries (Waking floors)
• Operate loading shovel and telehandler
