Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Mobile Plant operative at Maresfield Waste Transfer Station in East Sussex. The role involves operating on-site mobile plant, performing daily checks, loading materials, weighing duties, and supporting other South Downs sites as needed.

The ideal candidate has operational/manual handling experience and hands-on training for Teletruck, Loading Shovel, and Wheeled Materials Handler. A values-driven, inclusive workplace is offered.

Qualifications

• Previous operational experience is required.
• Experience operating Mobile Plant (Teletruck, Loading Shovel, Wheeled Materials Handler) – training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate Mobile Plant on site and perform daily checks per manufacturer handbook.
• Load materials on/off the site and manage site flow.
• Provide weighbridge cover when needed.
• Work at other sites within the South Downs contract area if required.
• Maintain traffic control on site.

What will you be doing?

• Operating the Mobile Plant on site, completing daily checks while maintaining the equipment in line with the manufacturer's hand book, including cleaning.
• Loading materials in and out of the site
• Provide weighbridge cover when needed
• Working at other sites within the South Downs contract area if required
• Traffic control
