Job summary

Airpac Rentals, a subsidiary of Vp plc, invites applications for a Workshop Labourer in the Aberdeen area. The role focuses on fabric maintenance, preparation, painting and related tasks to keep hire equipment in top condition.

You will inspect equipment, assist in loading, keep the workshop tidy, follow HSE guidelines, and support maintenance and logistics. A valid driving licence and basic maths/English are preferred; 40-hour week, no weekend work, with benefits such as pension and life cover.

Qualifications

  • Basic maths and English skills (National 5 levels or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of the oil industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in operating forklift trucks or cranes is beneficial but not essential.
  • A valid driving licence is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • A proactive and flexible attitude to tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and tests on air and steam hoses as required.
  • Assist in equipment preparation prior to painting.
  • Inspect returned equipment for damage and verify against hire termination paperwork.
  • Carry out pre-use inspections of forklift trucks and cranes.
  • Safely operate forklifts/cranes for loading, unloading and moving equipment.
  • Keep workshop and yard clean and free of debris at all times.
  • Deliver and collect small parts and assets as needed.
  • Store equipment in designated locations correctly.
  • Complete documentation for maintenance and movements promptly.
  • Maintain records for inspections, damage reports and asset movements.
  • Provide workshop/yard support as directed by team.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and adapt to team needs.
  • Follow health and safety procedures to protect yourself and others.
  • Dispose of waste safely and handle chemicals and paints properly.

Workshop Labourer

Join Our Team as a Workshop Labourer at Airpac Rentals!

Airpac Rentals is a trusted supplier of equipment solutions to the energy industry. We’re seeking a Workshop Labourer to join our team and help maintain the high standards of our workshop and yard operations.

A large part of the role will involve fabric maintenance of the assets, including preparation, painting, and other related tasks. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that our hire equipment is in optimal condition and supporting various maintenance and logistical tasks within the workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct air and steam hose inspections and tests as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of equipment prior to painting.
  • Inspect all returned equipment for visual damage and check items against hire termination paperwork.
  • Carry out pre-use inspections of forklift trucks and cranes.
  • Safely operate forklifts/cranes for loading, unloading, and moving equipment in the workshop and yard.
  • Ensure the workshop and yard are kept clean, tidy, and free from debris at all times.
  • Deliver and collect small parts and assets as needed, ensuring timely and efficient handling.
  • Ensure all equipment is stored correctly in its designated location.
  • Ensure all documentation related to equipment maintenance and movement is understood, completed, and returned promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records for all inspections, damage reports, and asset movements.
  • Provide assistance within the workshop and yard as directed by workshop personnel.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and show flexibility in supporting team needs.
  • Follow company health and safety procedures and always ensure personal and team safety.
  • Dispose of waste products in designated recycling bins and ensure that chemicals, oils, waste fluids, and paints are handled safely without spills.
  • Ensure that equipment is loaded and stored correctly and comply with all HSE regulations and company safety guidelines.

What We’re Looking For
