Job summary

Cygnet Wast Hills is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. You’ll work 40 hours per week on a 7-day rota, with 4 x 10-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, helping to prepare and serve meals.

You will maintain high hygiene standards and support a welcoming environment for the people we support, while handling stock, deliveries and kitchen equipment according to COSHH regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering, ideally in care settings.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Able to work in a 7-day rota and maintain high hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

Kitchen Assistant

Cygnet Group are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Cygnet Wast Hills.

Working 40 hours per week on a 7-day rota (4 x 10-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm), you'll help prepare and serve meals, maintain high hygiene standards and contribute to a welcoming environment for the people we support.

Cygnet Wast Hills provides dedicated, person-centred support to men with learning disabilities, autism and associated complex needs in a robust environment.

The service has a number of independent and communal living spaces for the individuals we support, to maximise opportunities to progress through their care pathway towards greater independence.

Your Day-to-Day...

• Assist the team in providing balanced, appetising meals
• Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks & other kitchen duties
• Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
• Sort, store & distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering
• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean & hygienic
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
• Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
