Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) is seeking a Test and Inspect Engineer to join the Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Pentonville. You will inspect electrical installations, carry out testing, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

This full-time perm role offers a competitive salary (£48,412.56 base) with a 5% shift/weekend allowance and £3,500 annual allowances, plus 25 days holiday and additional benefits.

Qualifications

• At least five years experience as an electrician.
• Two years experience in a test and inspection role.
• Experience with commercial/industrial electrical systems and catering equipment.
• Good knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Basic IT skills incl. Excel and Word.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation).
• C&G 2391 - Electrical inspection and testing.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
• 18th Edition.
• Strong health & safety awareness.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.

Salary: £48,412.56 + an additional 5% basic salary in recognition of shift and weekend working + an additional £3,500 in allowances per annum.

Contract: Full Time - Perm (39 hours per week)

We are seeking a dedicated Test and Inspect Engineer to join our team at HMP Pentonville a category B adult male prison.

As a Test and Inspect Engineer you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Cleaners, and Administrators, and others, who are all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for a Test and Inspect Engineer with a combination of the following qualifications and skills/experience:

• At least five years experience working as an electrician
• Two years experience working in a role as a test and inspection electrician or equivalent

Future Plans.

GFSL has been notified by it's shareholder (MOJ) that the provision of FM Services will in future be delivered by the private sector. This means that following a successful procurement process, GFSL's services will complete transfer to a private sector provider/providers no sooner than August 2027.
