Priority Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking a Senior Residential Care Worker in Wiltshire to lead shifts and deliver high-quality care for children and young people in a residential setting.

You will support the Home Manager, supervise staff, and promote a safe, therapeutic environment to foster independence and confidence while working a rota that includes sleep-ins and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Experience in children's residential care (essential).
  • Experience in a senior or leadership role (preferred).
  • Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
  • Ability to lead shifts and support a team effectively.
  • Calm, resilient and confident approach.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexible to work shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Leading shifts and supporting team members to deliver high-quality care.
  • Supporting the Home Manager and deputising in their absence.
  • Supervising staff and supporting performance and development.
  • Ensuring safeguarding and child protection standards are upheld at all times.
  • Supporting children with daily routines, activities and emotional wellbeing.
  • Acting as a positive role model for both young people and staff.
  • Contributing to care planning and attending reviews/meetings.
  • Supporting behaviour using appropriate strategies and therapeutic approaches.
  • Liaising with external professionals such as social workers, schools and therapists.
  • Supporting the induction and development of new staff.
  • Ensuring health & safety procedures and risk assessments are followed.

Job Title: Senior Residential Care Worker

Location: Wiltshire, SN12 8BN

Pay rate: £33,592 per annum

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift and schedule:

160 hours per month (average 40 hours per week)

Rota basis: 2 days on + sleep-in, followed by 4 days off

Priority Recruitment are excited to present this long-term Senior Residential Care Worker opportunity in Wiltshire.

Successful Candidate:
  • Previous experience working in children's residential care (essential)
  • Experience in a senior or leadership role (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to lead shifts and support a team effectively
  • Calm, resilient, and confident approach
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Flexible to work shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
