Job summary

Randstad CPE is recruiting an experienced Health and Safety Manager for a major civil infrastructure project in North East Lincolnshire on a 2-year freelance contract (with potential permanent opportunities). You will own the HSW strategy across the project, lead the team and report to the Head of HSW UK&I.

The successful candidate will bring NEBOSH Diploma (or Construction Certificate), CMIOSH or working towards Chartership, strong knowledge of UK legislation, incident investigation, audits

Qualifications

• Extensive proven experience leading HSW on major construction or infrastructure projects.
• NEBOSH Diploma or Construction Certificate preferred; Chartership desirable.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Leading the development and delivery of the project's HSW strategy.

Health and Safety Manager - Major Infrastructure

Contract type - Freelance (2-years)

Location - North East Lincolnshire area

Are you an experienced health and safety expert looking to take full ownership of a high-profile and high-value civil infrastructure project? We at Randstad are working with a leading civil infrastructure contractor who is recruiting a Health and Safety Manager on a 2-year contract (with the option of securing a permanent role) in North-East Lincolnshire.

As the H&S Manager, you will be reporting to the Head of Health, Safety And Wellbeing (HSW) in the UK and Ireland and you will be required to lead all HSW activities across the project, ensuring the highest standards of compliance, leadership and continuous improvement are achieved.

Responsibilities include;

Leading the development and delivery of the project's HSW strategy.

Managing the team.

Ensuring the project complies with all legislation, client requirements and company management systems.

Leading

Acting as principal HSW advisor to the Project Director and senior leadership team.

Working with different teams (construction, engineering, commercial etc) collaboratively to support project planning and ensure safe project delivery.

The successful candidate will have:

Extensive proven experience leading HSW on major construction or infrastructure projects (ideally marine, port or heavy civils).

Tier 2 COMAH experience is a bonus.

A NEBOSH Diploma (preferred) or NEBOSH Construction Certificate with substantial experience. CMIOSH or working towards Chartership.

Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and its application within Design & Build projects.

Excellent communication, leadership and personable skills

Experience leading incident investigations, audits and continuous improvement programmes.

Strong understanding of behavioural safety, occupational health and wellbeing.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power BI and document management systems.
