Job summary

Holroyd Howe is seeking a General Assistant to join our education catering team. You will help prepare and serve meals, keep front and back of house areas clean, and support food safety procedures in a school setting.

The role offers term-time hours with occasional evening events, ongoing training, pension and life insurance, and perquisites via Perkbox including discounts and employee support services. A great team environment awaits.

• Ideally experience in Education catering but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and serving of lunch and snacks per established menus.
• Maintain front of house cleanliness and organise dishes and utensils.
• Maintain back of house cleanliness including washing up, sweeping and mopping.
• Follow cleaning rotas, health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify management of shortages or discrepancies.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during meals.
• Participate in training sessions related to food service procedures and customer service.

Job Description

As a

General Assistantyou will…

• Maintain cleanliness of the front of house areas including organising dishes and utensils.
• Maintain the cleanliness also back of house including washing up, sweeping and mopping.
• To follow cleaning rotas, health and safety, and other policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Following proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
• Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
• Participate in training sessions and meeting related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
• To complete all mandatory training and courses within the set time scales.
