Equans is looking for a Facilities Team Leader to join our team at the New Victoria Hospital, Glasgow on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working on average 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and in addition you will receive an excellent benefits package.
We are looking for a Facilities Team Leader to act as a key ambassador on a critical healthcare site. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will provide site-based line management for all technical service delivery—overseeing in-house teams and contractors—ensuring compliance, managing client relationships, and coordinating operations across the site.
This pivotal role involves leadership, operational management, and fostering close collaboration to maintain and improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of maintenance services, ensuring standardised practices within the healthcare portfolio. You will also participate in an escalation process outside regular hours as required.
Proven leadership experience within a facilities management or technical service role, preferably in healthcare or similarly regulated environments.
Strong knowledge of statutory standards and healthcare technical memoranda (HTMs, SHTMs).
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively with a focus on development and motivation.
Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, SLAs, and KPIs.
Resilient with the ability to handle work pressures and participate in out-of-hours escalation as needed.
You will need to be able to demonstrate a technical background within an electrical, mechanical or building services bias, preferably having had significant exposure to a Healthcare environment (desirable but not essential).
Qualified to the appropriate levels associated to the relevant trades background, for example; City & Guilds Apprenticeship (or equivalent) within Electrical/Mechanical/Building Services bias having had at least 3/5 years within these roles and/or at Supervisory level.
A further sought after preference is for a person to hold (or has held) an Authorised Person (AP) appointment within Medical Gas Pipeline Systems and/or Electrical or Mechanical bias.
As a line manager, the Facilities Team Leader will be expected to act as an example to the front line Equans team; as such a person of similar character is required, as is a reputation which demonstrates confidence from all levels.
Due to nature of the role the successful candidate will be required to obtain Disclosure Scotland to PVG Level.
