We are looking for a Facilities Team Leader to act as a key ambassador on a critical healthcare site. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will provide site-based line management for all technical service delivery—overseeing in-house teams and contractors—ensuring compliance, managing client relationships, and coordinating operations across the site.

This pivotal role involves leadership, operational management, and fostering close collaboration to maintain and improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of maintenance services, ensuring standardised practices within the healthcare portfolio. You will also participate in an escalation process outside regular hours as required.

What will you deliver?

Lead, motivate, and develop the site frontline team to maximise their potential and deliver service excellence.

Manage recruitment, induction, performance reviews, and training aligned with company policies and mandatory standards.

Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment demonstrating EQUANS values and behaviours.

Direct day-to-day service delivery for planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with contractual service levels, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.

Enhance stakeholder relationships by exceeding expectations and ensuring effective coordination across teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and customers.

Support the Technical Services Manager in contract delivery, growth initiatives, and commercial performance.

Promote continuous improvement, sharing best practices internally and with clients.

Provide accurate, timely monthly reports on maintenance activities, defects, small works, and contract KPIs.

Support SLA/KPI achievement and contribute to monthly client reporting.

Assist with quality monitoring audits, health & safety plans, risk assessments, and statutory compliance, including HTMs and SHTMs.

Build and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders, including NHS clients, Project Co, suppliers, and staff representatives.

Act as the technical lead representing EQUANS on-site, making well-informed decisions and managing escalations.

Oversee safe work practices for internal teams and contractors, ensuring compliance with health & safety legislation and EQUANS policies.

Support continuous monitoring and maintenance of critical systems such as high voltage electrical systems and medical gases.

Proven leadership experience within a facilities management or technical service role, preferably in healthcare or similarly regulated environments.

Strong knowledge of statutory standards and healthcare technical memoranda (HTMs, SHTMs).

Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage teams effective with a focus on development and motivation. Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, SLAs, and KPIs.

Resilient with the ability to handle work pressures and participate in out-of-hours escalation as needed.

Who are we looking for?
  • You will need to be able to demonstrate a technical background within an electrical, mechanical or building services bias, preferably having had significant exposure to a Healthcare environment (desirable but not essential).

  • Qualified to the appropriate levels associated to the relevant trades background, for example; City & Guilds Apprenticeship (or equivalent) within Electrical/Mechanical/Building Services bias having had at least 3/5 years within these roles and/or at Supervisory level.

  • A further sought after preference is for a person to hold (or has held) an Authorised Person (AP) appointment within Medical Gas Pipeline Systems and/or Electrical or Mechanical bias. As a line manager, the Facilities Team Leader will be expected to act as an example to the front line Equans team; as such a person of similar character is required, as is a reputation which demonstrates confidence from all levels.

  • Due to nature of the role the successful candidate will be required to obtain Disclosure Scotland to PVG Level.
