Job summary

HR GO Recruitment is actively seeking an Electrical Engineer for a temp-to-perm opportunity based in Folkestone. You will install, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment, working to industry regulations and safe working practices. This role is physically demanding and involves manual labour in varied environments.

Key duties include wiring, testing, diagnostics, and maintaining records. A valid ECS card and driving licence are required; basic French is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Electrical Engineer or in a similar electrical fitting role.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools and equipment.
• Ability to work safely and follow QHSE procedures.
• Driving licence required.
• Physically capable of performing manual labour.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment (wiring, switches, outlets, circuit breakers).
• Complete routine inspections and electrical testing to identify faults and malfunctions.
• Diagnose issues and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documents.
• Maintain accurate records, including maintenance and repair logs.
• Support apprentices and junior electricians when required.

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00 (30 minutes unpaid lunch)

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment (wiring, switches, outlets, circuit breakers)
• Complete routine inspections and electrical testing to identify faults and malfunctions
• Diagnose issues and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime
• Work safely at all times, following relevant QHSE procedures and guidelines
• Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, regulations and industry standards
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documents
• Maintain accurate records, including maintenance and repair logs
• Support apprentices and junior electricians when required
• Proven experience in an Electrical Engineer or similar electrical fitting role
• Valid ECS card (or equivalent certification)
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools and equipment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail, with effective communication and teamwork
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• A valid driving licence
