Job summary

Office Angels in Folkestone is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to maintain and repair production equipment on a 9-month contract. You will drive efficiency via continuous improvement and automation, working in a small team with a focus on safety and quality.

The role requires hands-on maintenance of processing/packaging machinery, PLC/robot troubleshooting, and a strong background in planned, reactive, preventive and predictive maintenance. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Experience with processing and packaging machinery.
• Mechanical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience troubleshooting PLC and robotic equipment.
• Strong background in reactive, planned, preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and SMED projects.
• Understanding of COSHH regulations.
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge or qualifications would be advantageous.

Position Details

• Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
• Location: Folkestone, Kent
• Contract Length: Initially 9 months
• Start Date: ASAP
• Pay Rate: £24.87 per hour (£54,000 annual equivalent)
• Hours: 42 hours per week
• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
• Friday: 8:00am to 4:00pm
• 30-minute lunch break

About the Role

Based at a busy manufacturing site, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production and plant equipment, helping to drive efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives and automation developments.

Working as part of a small engineering team, you'll carry out both planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensure plant equipment operates within specification, and support production by prioritising engineering tasks effectively while maintaining high Health & Safety and Quality standards.

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience working with processing and packaging machinery
