Job summary

HRGO Recruitment is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Folkestone for a temp-to-perm role. You will install, repair and maintain electrical systems, read drawings, and ensure safety and compliance with industry standards. The position is based in Folkestone with a Monday–Friday schedule and £20 per hour pay.

The role requires a Level 2 City & Guilds qualification, a valid UK passport and ECS card. Basic driving licence and ability to work independently are preferred attributes.

Qualifications

• Valid UK passport required.
• City & Guilds Level 2 qualification is essential.
• Experience as Electrical Engineer or similar role preferred.
• Valid ECS card or equivalent certification.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment (wiring, switches, outlets, circuit breakers).
• Perform routine inspections and electrical testing to identify faults.
• Diagnose issues and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Follow QHSE procedures and safety guidelines at all times.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and industry standards.

Electrical Engineer

Location: Folkestone

Pay rate: £20 per hour

Contract: Temp-to-perm

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00 (30 minutes unpaid lunch)

Overview:

We're recruiting an Electrical Engineer for a temp-to-perm opportunity based in Folkestone. You'll install, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment, working to industry regulations and safe working practices. Please note: this is a physically demanding role involving manual labour and working in varied environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment (wiring, switches, outlets, circuit breakers)
• Complete routine inspections and electrical testing to identify faults and malfunctions
• Diagnose issues and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime
• Work safely at all times, following relevant QHSE procedures and guidelines
• Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, regulations and industry standards
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documents
• Maintain accurate records, including maintenance and repair logs
• Support apprentices and junior electricians when required

Essential Requirements:

• Valid UK passport
• Level 2 City & Guilds qualification
• Proven experience in an Electrical Engineer or similar electrical fitting role
• Valid ECS card (or equivalent certification)
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools and equipment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail, with effective communication and teamwork
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• A valid driving licence
