Job summary

Veolia is seeking a hands-on operative at our Alton site to operate Front Loading Shovels, Telehandler and 360-degree Excavator to move waste and support site operations. You will perform routine preventative checks, report defects, and liaise with contractors and haulage teams.

The role requires a mobile plant licence and a full UK driving licence with own transport due to the site location. Overtime is available with weekday, Saturday, and Sunday rates, and Veolia offers a comprehensive

Responsibilities

• Operate the Front Loading Shovels, Telehandler and 360-degree Excavator to transport waste.
• Routine maintenance of mobile plant and equipment, including oil and water checks and reporting defects.
• Liaise with site personnel, contractors, tipping authorities and haulage department.
• Complete machine/plant hours, defect sheets and related paperwork.
• Ensure correct waste types are accepted and non-conforming wastes are reported.
• Carry out quality checks on outgoing recycled material to meet market standards and maximize weights.

What will you be doing?

• Operate the Front Loading Shovels. Telehandler and 360-degree Excavator to transport waste
• Routine maintenance of mobile plant and equipment, including oils and water checks and reporting defects
• Liaise with site personnel, contractors, tipping authorities and members of the haulage department
• Complete machine/plant hours, defect sheets and other related paperwork
• Ensure that the correct waste types are accepted and any non conforming wastes are reported and dealt with accordingly
• Carry out quality checks on the outgoing recycled material to ensure that it meets the market quality standards
• Ensure that outgoing weights of recycled material are maximised
• You may be required by the Company to work at a different location than your normal place of work, from time to time, where it is reasonable and practical to do so.

What are we looking for?

• Full UK driving licence and own transport due to the location of the site
