Job summary

Sight Support Derbyshire is seeking a Rehabilitation Support Worker to visit blind and partially sighted people in their homes, assess needs, and provide practical advice and signposting. Full training and ongoing support are provided, with a role that directly helps Derbyshire residents.

You will work as part of a friendly, dedicated team and contribute to training and development opportunities while ensuring safety and comfort in equipment use.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting people with sight loss welcome but not essential. Training and ongoing support will be provided.

• Visit blind and partially sighted people in their homes to understand what practical advice, equipment or signposting may help
• Demonstrate and provide simple aids and equipment
• Offer clear, practical advice about using equipment safely and confidently at home
• Provide information and signposting to other Sight Support Derbyshire services or external support where appropriate
• Keep accurate records of visits, equipment provided and any onward referrals or follow-up needed
