Job summary

Sight Support Derbyshire is recruiting a Rehabilitation Support Worker to help blind and partially sighted people across Derbyshire live independently and safely at home. You will visit clients to assess needs, demonstrate simple aids, provide practical advice on equipment use, and signpost to other services.

Full training and ongoing support are provided. A calm, flexible approach; excellent communication; ability to travel; respect for confidentiality; you will join a friendly, supportive team

Qualifications

• Able to work independently, use initiative and manage your time well.

• A flexible approach, willingness to learn, and the ability to travel across Derbyshire.

Responsibilities

• Visit blind and partially sighted people in their homes to understand practical advice, equipment or signposting needed.
• Demonstrate and provide simple aids and equipment.
• Offer clear, practical advice about using equipment safely and confidently at home.
• Provide information and signposting to other Sight Support Derbyshire services or external support.
• Keep accurate records of visits, equipment provided and any onward referrals or follow-up needed.
