Job summary

GXO Logistics Ltd in East Aberthaw, Barry CF62 3ZR, is hiring a full-time Class 1 Driver to join the Tarmac team. The role is Monday to Friday, typically 05:00 start, 40 hours per week, with an hourly rate of £16.61 paid weekly.

You’ll trunk and load cement tanks and tautliners for deliveries across South Wales and the South West of England, with full bulk discharge training and mandatory safety and compliance checks.

Qualifications

• Valid Category C+E (Class 1) UK driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving articulated class 1 vehicles preferred.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Trunking and loading bulk cement tanks and tautliners for deliveries across South Wales and the South West of England.
• Conduct vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
• Complete all required documentation and delivery records accurately.
• Support training, development and multiskilling within a dynamic working environment.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

You will be trunking and loading bulk cement tanks and tautliners of palletised packet cement from Aberthaw, supporting deliveries across South Wales and the South West of England

Full bulk discharge training provided making this a great opportunity to develop your skills and experience

Conduct vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure roadworthiness and compliance

Complete all required documentation and delivery records accurately

What you need to succeed at GXO:

Valid Category C+E (Class 1) UK driving licence

Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card

Previous experience driving articulated class 1 vehicles preferred

Strong understanding of health and safety procedures

Physically fit and capable of handling equipment safely
