Job summary

Serencroft Care Homes is seeking Bank Health Care Assistants to support residents at Gable Court, Romford, on flexible, as-needed shifts. You will assist with daily living activities and help maintain high standards of care and safety.

This role offers ongoing training within a values-led, multi-site care group, with NVQ opportunities after probation and rewards for performance.

Qualifications

• Provide personal care and support to residents in a dignified, person-centred manner.
• Assist residents with mobility using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care, including washing, dressing and continence care.
• Assist residents with mobility and transfers.
• Support residents at mealtimes with eating and drinking as needed.
• Monitor and report changes in health or wellbeing to senior staff.
• Maintain up-to-date care records according to home procedures.
• Encourage participation in social and recreational activities.

Serencroft Care Homes is an independent care provider operating five residential and nursing homes across England, including Gable Court in Romford. We are CQC-regulated and B Corp certified, and we work in partnership with NHS commissioners and local universities to provide high-quality, person-centred care. We're looking for reliable, compassionate Bank Health Care Assistants to help provide high-quality care to the residents and staff who call Gable Court home, covering shifts flexibly as needed.

The Role

As a Bank Health Care Assistant, you'll provide personal care and support to residents at Gable Court on a flexible, as-required basis. You'll help residents with daily living activities, support their physical and emotional wellbeing, and help ensure the home meets health and safety standards - playing an important behind-the-scenes role in the comfort and wellbeing of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care, including washing, dressing and continence care, in a dignified and person-centred way
• Assist residents with mobility, using appropriate moving and handling techniques and equipment
• Support residents at mealtimes, including assistance with eating and drinking where needed
• Monitor and report any changes in residents' health, wellbeing or behaviour to senior staff promptly
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records in line with home procedures
• Support residents to take part in social and recreational activities
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
• Promote residents' dignity, independence and choice in all aspects of their care
• Work flexibly across shifts as required, covering absence and additional demand within the home
