Job summary

Surrey Independent Living Charity is seeking an upbeat Autism Support Worker to assist our 8-year-old Skyla on Saturdays and during school holidays. The role focuses on energetic, child-focused activities and safe, fun outings.

You will support Skyla with community activities, light meal prep, and help her develop independence; DBS check will be arranged if needed. This is a part-time position with weekend and holiday hours.

Qualifications

• Experience with autism/ ADHD/ PDA desirable.
• DBS check (we can arrange this)
• Energetic, positive, child-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Support Skyla with fun community outings (swimming, cinema, walks, museums).
• Provide light support such as preparing snacks and drinks.
• Encourage independence and ensure Skyla is dried properly after swimming.

Autism Support Worker Required for upbeat 8-year-old (Ref 008939)

Hours: 4hrs Saturdays (49 weeks/year), 10hrs in school holidays (13 weeks/year)

We’re seeking a warm, upbeat PA to support our 8-year-old daughter, Skyla. She is autistic, has ADHD and PDA, so experience with these would be helpful. Skyla is friendly, bubbly and loves being out and about, choosing activities herself.

You’ll support Skyla with:

• Fun community outings (swimming, soft play, cinema, walks, horse-related activities, museums, colouring, baking)
• Light support such as preparing snacks and drinks
• Encouraging independence — no personal care, but checking she’s dried properly after swimming

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is energetic, positive, and child-focused
• Enjoys being active and planning fun days out
• Has experience with autism/ADHD/PDA (desirable)
• Has a valid DBS check (we can arrange this)
