Job summary

Cornerstone is seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant to support a lively 9-year-old boy with Autism Spectrum Condition and Global Developmental Delay. The role involves weekend work with some weekday hours to support appointments and activities, with flexible hours discussed at interview.

You will help the family with outings, play at home, and personal care as needed, aiming to build confidence, independence and social skills in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with additional support needs is desirable but not essential.
• PVG scheme membership will be required.
• Full training will be provided.

Hours to be worked mainly over weekends, with some weekday hours to support appointments, activities and occasional morning shifts. Flexibility is available and can be discussed at interview.

A family are looking for a kind, patient and reliable Personal Assistant to support a happy and energetic 9-year-old boy with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Global Developmental Delay.

The individual enjoys outdoor activities, swimming, sensory play, music, cars, Lego, story time and trampolining.

The role includes:

• Supporting the individual to access community activities and outings.
• Engaging in play and activities at home.
• Providing consistent support to build confidence, independence and social skills.
• Supporting attendance at appointments and activities.
• Assisting with personal care when required.

Previous experience supporting children with additional support needs is desirable but not essential.
