The role requires leadership, safeguarding expertise and a track record in managing teams within children’s residential settings. NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People and a Leadership/Management qualification

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, safe and nurturing care for children and young people in the home.
  • Oversee safeguarding and welfare, day-to-day operations and staff practice.
  • Provide strong leadership and drive continuous improvement in line with regulations and standards.
  • Ensure clear risk assessments, safer staffing arrangements and multi‑agency collaboration.
  • Support individual child needs and ensure appropriate care plans and procedures are followed.
  • Lead staff through supervision, training, and shift planning.

Job description

A fantastic new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Children's Home Registered Manager to manage a children's residential home based in the Doncaster area. You will join a provider with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality care and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people

This is a fantastic care provider dedicated to supporting children and young people aged 9-17 who have complex emotional and behavioural needs, providing a safe and supportive environment

As the Manager your key responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for delivering high-quality, safe and nurturing care for children and young people in the home
  • Hold overall accountability for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child, overseeing day-to-day operations, leading staff practice, and driving continuous improvement in line with company standards, ethos and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
  • Provide strong leadership, ensuring care is child-centred and focused on achieving the best outcomes for the child
  • Maintaining robust safeguarding systems, safer staffing arrangements, clear risk assessments, and effective multi-agency working
  • Ensure the child's individual vulnerabilities, behaviours and support needs are understood and responded to consistently
  • Supervise as well as mentor staff, organise work patterns, deliver care-focused training, ensure care plans, safeguarding procedures and support services are implemented effectively
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
  • Strong childcare and safeguarding knowledge, including the Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
  • Ability to lead safeguarding practice, manage risk, respond to incidents, and ensure the home meets its duty to protect and promote the welfare of the child at all times
  • Experience of managing staff teams, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead with confidence, professionalism and resilience
  • A genuine passion for children's homes and a strong commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people

To be considered for this position you must hold a leadership and Management qualification, or willingness to work towards one, together with NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People + 2-3 years of management experience and a strong background in supporting young people

The successful Manager will receive an excellent salary of £54,080 - £64,280 per annum - Pay frequency is monthly. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 39 hours a week.

  • On call payments- £25 weekday, £35 weekends
  • Petrol Allowance - Paid when using own car - proof of business insurance must be provided
