Job summary

Edinburgh Leisure is seeking an Operations Supervisor to manage shifts across our school facilities in Edinburgh, delivering great customer service and ensuring safe, efficient operations.

You will lead and develop a team, handle day‑to‑day venue management, and resolve customer enquiries to maintain high member satisfaction. Lifeguard pool qualification will be provided if needed.

Applicants with hospitality or retail experience are welcome; swim tests may be part of assessment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and develop your team, setting a positive example and supporting safe, efficient, and professional performance that delivers excellent customer service.
• Oversee the smooth day-to-day operation of the venue, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for all customers.
• Engage with customers and resolve enquiries and complaints calmly and professionally to achieve high levels of member satisfaction.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety requirements, risk assessments, and security regulations across all services and activities.

Job description

Salary - £30,117 per annum (£16.23 per hour)

Hours - Full-time, 35.75 hours per week (5 week shift pattern, mix of early and late shifts. The earliest start is 7.30am and latest finish is 10.00pm, working 2 out of 5 weekends)

Contract - Fixed until 15th of May 2027

We have an amazing opportunity for you to join our team as an Operations Supervisor.

Working in our busy school facilities across Edinburgh, you will be responsible for running the shift, delivering great customer service, and looking after our staff and customers. Background in leisure operations is not essential, and we welcome applications from candidates with experience in hospitality, retail, or other customer service environments. You will need to be a strong swimmer and capable of achieving a lifeguard pool qualification. Training will be provided if you do not already hold the qualification.

Opportunities available:

• Wester Hailes High School – Full-time, 35.75 hours per week (Monday to Sunday, a mix of early and back shifts: earliest start 06:30 and latest finish 22:00. Working 2 weekends out of 5).

Note: To ensure candidates are suitable for the Lifeguard Training Course, swim tests will be part of the assessment process.
