Smart Solutions (Recruitment) Limited is recruiting for a Multi Skilled Fitter to join a busy waste and recycling operation in East Lothian. This hands-on role covers maintenance, repair and reliability of site equipment, HGV vehicles and hydraulic systems.

You will work across departments, prioritising workloads and taking ownership of maintenance tasks within a fast-paced industrial environment.

• Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs and fault finding across site equipment.
• Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, HGV vehicles and mobile plant machinery.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Support both planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.
• Prioritise workloads and work independently when required.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and housekeeping.

Job description

Smart Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Multi Skilled Fitter to join a busy waste and recycling operation in East Lothian.

This is a hands-on, varied role working across multiple departments, supporting the maintenance, repair and reliability of site equipment, HGV vehicles and hydraulic systems. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated engineer who can work independently, adapt to changing priorities and take ownership of maintenance tasks within a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• . Up to £18.00 per hour
• . £200 Bonus after completion of 6 weeks
• . Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 6:00pm
• . Overtime paid at time and a half after 46.25 hours
