Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, dedicated Registered Nurse to join Barnet Grange Care Home in Barnet for bank work across shifts. You will act as person in charge in the absence of the manager and ensure high standards of resident care with compassion and professionalism.

The role requires a First Level nursing qualification and current NMC registration, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are provided by Avery.

Qualifications

  • Hold a First Level nursing qualification and current NMC registration.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience in care settings.
  • Display good interpersonal skills and ability to instruct and demonstrate care activities.
  • Sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute medications, perform dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and manage chronic conditions.
  • Advise families and GPs of changes in resident condition and involve them in ongoing care decisions.
  • Supervise and deploy care team staff to ensure duties are completed during shifts.
  • Provide high standards of care by accurate assessment and planning.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus asa Registered Nursewill beto act as person in charge,standingin for the Manager asrequiredandobserveall instructions to act upon his/her behalfwhilst youensurehigh standardsof care toourresidents.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Undertakingnursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
  • Advisingfamilies of residents andGPsof any changes in condition, which gives rise to concern and keeps them informed and involved in choices for ongoing care.
  • Responsibilityfor the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care.
  • Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning.
