Job summary

Avery Healthcare's Chorleywood Manor Care Home in Chorleywood is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our bank team. You will act as person in charge when required, ensuring high standards of care for residents.

Shifts run 7 am–7 pm and 7 pm–7 am; you will manage medications, dressings, and care planning, while supervising care staff and communicating with families and GPs.

Qualifications

  • Hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.
  • Demonstrate caring attitude and up-to-date care knowledge.
  • Experience supporting residents with complex needs.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and chronic care management.
  • Advise families and GPs on changes in residents' conditions and care choices.
  • Supervise care staff during duty periods and ensure all tasks are completed.
  • Provide high standards of care through accurate assessment and planning.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Registered Nurse will be to act as person in charge, standing in for the Manager as required and observe all instructions to act upon his/her behalf whilst you ensure high standards of care to our residents.

Other responsibilities will include
  • Undertakingnursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
  • Advisingfamilies of residents andGPsof any changes in condition, which gives rise to concern and keeps them informed and involved in choices for ongoing care.
  • Responsibility for the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care.
  • Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning.

Our ideal candidatemust
  • Hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.
  • Demonstrate a minimum 2 years experience and up to date knowledge of care,supported by relevant post-basic studies/qualification.
  • Display goodinterpersonal skills and ability to instruct and demonstrate care activities.
  • Have sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application.
