Job summary

Chichester College Group’s Westgate Halls in Chichester is seeking a Halls of Residence Supervisor to support welfare, safety and daily operations for students living on site.

You will act as a welcoming contact for residents, maintain safety procedures, assist with maintenance and records, and foster a positive living environment. The role is permanent, full-time, 37 hours a week, on-site.

Qualifications

• Experience in a welfare-related role and safeguarding awareness.
• Clear written and verbal communication with diverse people.
• Proven customer service skills and professional approach.
• Competence with Microsoft Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Act as a welcoming and reliable point of contact for residents, supporting welfare and day-to-day queries.
• Maintain a safe residential environment by following safeguarding, security, fire safety and health and safety procedures, including daily checks and inspections.
• Promote positive student behaviour, working with colleagues, security staff, parents and support services.
• Keep accurate student records, event logs and shift handovers, and report maintenance, stock and operational issues.
• Be involved in day-to-day maintenance of the accommodation and ensure rooms are maintained to a high standard.

As our Westgate Halls of Residence Supervisor, you will:

• Act as a welcoming and reliable point of contact for residents, supporting their welfare and responding to day-to-day queries and concerns.
• Maintain a safe residential environment by following safeguarding, security, fire safety and health and safety procedures, including daily checks and regular inspections.
• Promote positive student behaviour, working closely with colleagues, security staff, parents and relevant support services.
• Keep accurate student records, event logs and shift handovers, and identify and report maintenance, stock and operational issues.
• Be involved in the day-to-day maintenance of the accommodation, helping to ensure rooms are maintained to a high standard for students.

• Proven customer service skills, sound judgement and confidence using Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• A responsible and professional approach, with integrity, compassion and patience.
