Job summary

Teaching Vacancies is seeking a lunchtime supervisor to ensure a safe, positive and enjoyable lunch period for students. The role involves supervising indoors and outdoors, promoting good behaviour and assisting with a tidy dining area.

The postholder will support safeguarding procedures and be prepared to undertake First Aid training. We are looking for someone caring, reliable and approachable with the confidence to build positive relationships with students and staff during the lunchtime

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-age children is desirable.
• Ability to promote positive behaviour and relationships.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a clean, tidy and safe dining and recreational environment.
• Supervise students during lunchtime, indoors and outdoors, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Work with teaching and support staff to ensure smooth lunchtime operation.
• Promote positive behaviour and respectful relationships among students.
• Encourage positive and appropriate interactions with peers.
• Monitor behaviour and report safeguarding or welfare concerns promptly.
• Be willing to undertake First Aid training and further safeguarding duties.
• Carry out additional reasonable duties as directed by the Head of Lower School.

Duties will include supervising students indoors and outdoors, promoting positive behaviour and relationships, supporting a safe and tidy dining environment, and ensuring students return to lessons on time.

We are looking for someone who is caring, reliable and approachable, with the confidence to promote positive behaviour and build good relationships with students.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake First Aid training and support the school's safeguarding, health and safety and behaviour procedures.

Job Purpose

To provide effective supervision and support to students during the lunchtime period, ensuring their safety, well-being and positive engagement. The postholder will help create a welcoming, respectful and safe environment in which students can enjoy their lunch and socialise appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a clean, tidy and safe dining and recreational environment.
• Supervise students during lunchtime, both indoors and outdoors, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to ensure the smooth running of the lunchtime period.
• Promote positive behaviour and respectful relationships between students.
• Encourage students to interact positively and appropriately with their peers.
• Monitor student behaviour and respond appropriately to any incidents or concerns
• Ensure students return to lessons promptly and on time at the end of the lunchtime period.
• Support the school's behaviour, safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
• Report any safeguarding, welfare, behavioural or other concerns promptly to the Head of Lower School, the Designated Safeguarding Lead or an appropriate member of staff.
• Be willing to undertake appropriate training to become a First Aider.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role, as directed by the Head of Lower School.
