Uniserve is seeking an experienced Transport Operations Supervisor for the Chepstow site to oversee all night transport activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations. You will support drivers and colleagues, coordinate resources, and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires night-shift leadership, strong communication, and a solid understanding of driver hours and transport legislation, with a focus on safety and efficiency across fleet operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a transport/logistics environment is essential.
• Supervisory or planning experience is preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office and transport systems.
• Strong understanding of driver hours and transport legislation.
• Knowledge of fleet operations and vehicle maintenance is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all night transport operations at Chepstow, ensuring efficient routing, on-time departures, accurate documentation and optimal resource allocation.
• Lead and support night shift drivers and staff, acting as the main contact and ensuring smooth handovers with day teams.
• Maintain full compliance with transport legislation, safety standards and vehicle maintenance requirements to promote a strong safety culture.
• Respond quickly to delays, breakdowns, or operational issues and drive continuous improvement with clear shift reporting.
• Collaborate with day teams to ensure seamless operations and accurate shift handovers.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Operations Supervisor to oversee and coordinate night operations site. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant running of all night transport activities, supporting both drivers and colleagues while maintaining high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all night transport operations, ensuring efficient routing, on time departures, accurate documentation, and effective allocation of vehicles and resources

Lead, support, and guide night shift drivers and operational staff, acting as the main point of contact and ensuring smooth communication and handovers with day teams

Maintain full compliance with transport legislation, safety standards, and vehicle maintenance requirements, promoting a strong safety culture across the operation

Respond quickly to operational issues such as delays or breakdowns, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and produce clear and accurate shift reports

Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in a transport / logistics environment (essential)

Experience in a supervisory or planning role (preferred)

Proficient in use of Microsoft office

Strong understanding of Driver hours and transport legislation

Fleet operations

Good IT skills (transport systems experience beneficial)

Strong communication and decision-making skills

Proactive and solutions-focused
