Job summary

Randox Health in Cheltenham is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our clinic located in the John Lewis store. You will collect blood samples from private and corporate clients, perform data entry, and support front-of-house duties within a fast-paced health-clinic environment.

The role requires Hepatitis B vaccination or willingness to obtain it after interview, and an enhanced DBS check. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for at least 12 months; visa sponsorship is not offered at hire.

Contract Offered: Full-time, permanent

Working Hours / Shifts: 5 days per week, subject to the rota, including some weekends. Start and finish times are 8.40am to 5.20pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4.30pm on a Sunday. These shifts are subject to change.

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage.

In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Right to Work Requirements

Please note that this role requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK for a minimum of 12 months from the application date. This is to ensure completion of our 9-month probationary period and for any potential sponsorship decisions to be considered. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship at the point of hire.

What does the Phlebotomist role involve?

This role is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients. This main duties of the role include:

• Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
• Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
• Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
• Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
• Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
• Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
• Help with reception, front of house and other administrative duties.
• Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
• Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manager various software systems and daily tasks.
