Job summary

CareTech is recruiting a Waking Night Support Worker in Oldham to provide person-centred care for adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. The role involves supporting daily living, promoting independence and logging all activities with the team.

You will work a rota including nights, with training and DBS paid by CareTech. This is a permanent, full-time post offering long-term career progression in a supportive service.

Qualifications

• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Experience of supporting adults with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
• Promote independence, dignity and wellbeing.
• Support activities, appointments and community access.
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins

About the Service – Royle Close and Charleston

Royle Close and Charleston is a registered residential care service, supporting adults aged 18+ in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. The service promotes independence, choice, and wellbeing through tailored, person-centred support.

Service User Interests

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

• Drivers are preferred but no essential
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
• Good communication and written skills
