Job summary

Oakley Coachbuilders Ltd is seeking a skilled Electrician to join their team in the UK. You will work on vehicle electrical systems for luxury horseboxes and motorhomes, install and maintain chargers, inverters, solar panels, and CCTV/ trackers, and diagnose faults.

You will read wiring diagrams, use diagnostic tools such as OBD scanners and multimeters, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Monday–Friday, 40 hours with overtime possible.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and ability to carry out fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs and installation of new systems.
• Familiarity with vehicle wiring standards.
• Confident using diagnostic tools (OBD scanners, multimeters, etc.).
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Working with wiring looms, harnesses, alternators, starters, batteries, lighting systems, and sensors.
• Installing and maintaining electrical systems (chargers, inverters, solar panels, leisure batteries, control panels etc.).
• Carrying out diagnostics and fault-finding.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Installing and maintaining vehicle electronics such as CCTV, trackers, alarms, and audio/entertainment systems.
• Ensuring all work complies with health & safety regulations and industry standards.
