Job summary

Sunseeker International Ltd. in Poole seeks an experienced Electrician to join our production team. The successful candidate will install, terminate and test electrical systems across our luxury motor yachts, following engineering drawings and build specifications.

Ideal applicants have at least 3 years' electrical installation experience, and familiarity with reading electrical diagrams. Apprentice-trained or equivalent hands-on experience is preferred, with IEE 18th Edition qualification

Qualifications

  • IEE 18th Edition qualification, or equivalent, would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures for luxury yacht manufacture.
  • Plan and install trunking and conduit runs accurately and efficiently.
  • Wiring AC and DC appliances per technical specifications.
  • Manufacture and install wiring looms using current techniques and standards.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, circuit diagrams and design specs.
  • Terminate and test electrical systems to ensure functionality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve production targets and build schedules.
  • Follow safe operating procedures and build specifications.

Who We Are Seeking

We are seeking skilled Electricians to join our production team and play a key role in delivering world-class vessels to customers across the globe.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced electricians who are passionate about quality workmanship and take pride in completing installations to the highest standards. You will be detail-oriented, methodical, and safety-conscious, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Whether your experience comes from marine, automotive, industrial, manufacturing, or commercial electrical environments, you will have a strong understanding of electrical installation practices and a commitment to excellence.

Please note: This contract role is within IR35 and pays £24.00 per hour.

A Day in the Life

As an Electrician at Sunseeker, you will be responsible for the installation, termination, and testing of electrical systems throughout our luxury motor yachts. Working from engineering drawings, circuit diagrams, and build specifications, you will install a wide range of AC and DC systems that form a critical part of the yacht's functionality.

Your day will involve routing and installing wiring systems, fitting electrical equipment, manufacturing and installing wiring looms, and ensuring all work is completed to the exacting standards expected of a world-leading yacht manufacturer. Working closely with colleagues across multiple trades, you will contribute to achieving production milestones whilst maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Example Responsibilities Include
  • Installing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures associated with luxury yacht manufacture
  • Planning and installing trunking and conduit runs accurately and efficiently
  • Wiring AC and DC appliances in line with technical specifications
  • Manufacturing and installing electrical wiring looms using current techniques and standards
  • Reading and accurately interpreting engineering drawings, circuit diagrams, and design specifications
  • Terminating and testing electrical systems to ensure functionality and compliance
  • Fitting GRP mouldings and carrying out minor gelling work where required
  • Working methodically to precise tolerances whilst maintaining high-quality standards
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve production targets and build schedules
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and working practicesUsing and maintaining specialist company-supplied tools responsibly
  • Following safe operating procedures and working in accordance with build specifications
To Be Considered for This Role You Should Have
  • Ideally a minimum of 3 years' electrical installation experience
  • Previous marine electrical experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Apprentice-trained status or equivalent hands‑on electrical experience
  • The ability to read and accurately interpret electrical diagrams, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Experience installing, terminating, and testing electrical systems
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • A methodical and thorough approach to electrical installation work
  • The ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced production environment
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
  • A responsible attitude towards tools, equipment, and workplace safety
  • A good general level of education
  • IEE 18th Edition qualification, or an equivalent electrical qualification, would be advantageous
