Job description

Why you'll love being part of the Paddocks

At The Paddocks, you'll support five incredible people who each live in their own bungalow and enjoy busy, varied lives. You'll get to know their unique personalities, interests and routines, building genuine relationships that make a real difference every day.

You'll support one gentleman who loves nothing more than being out and about, whether that's heading to the seaside, attending exercise classes or dancing the night away at a local disco. Another enjoys going swimming, shopping, exploring National Trust locations and sharing plenty of banter with those around him. One lady has a fantastic sense of humour and a love of music that spans from ABBA and Fleetwood Mac to classical favourites. Another gentleman values both his independence and his relationships, enjoying favourite TV shows, films and quality time with the people who matter most to him. Our newest resident is a huge fan of ABBA, Elvis and Mr Bean and loves being involved in conversations and social activities.

Alongside supporting people to enjoy the things they love, you'll provide personalised support with daily living, encourage independence, promote choice and help create moments that matter.

Shifts:

These vary week to week - 7am - 10pm / 7am - 3pm / 3pm - 10pm / alternate weekends / Sleep Ins. (We can also accommodate waking nights - 10pm / 7am)

About you

To thrive as a Support Worker at The Paddocks, you'll be someone who is kind, dependable and passionate about helping people live fulfilling, meaningful lives. Experience isn't essential, but the right values are.

You'll enjoy building genuine relationships, taking the time to understand what matters to each person and supporting them to achieve their goals, maintain their independence and enjoy the activities they love. You'll be a good listener, a strong communicator and someone who can adapt to different situations with patience, empathy and positivity.

We're looking for someone who is proactive, resilient and confident encouraging people to try new experiences, make choices and live life on their own terms. You'll also be comfortable using basic IT systems to complete records, training and day-to-day communications.

Most importantly, you'll see the person before the disability, celebrate individuality and bring warmth, respect and enthusiasm to everything you do. If you're someone who believes in making every day count, you'll fit right in at The Paddocks.

About Discovery

Discovery exists to support people to live fulfilling lives, be equal in society, and play an active role in their local communities. This means having real choice and control—whether that's staying in or going out, building friendships, developing skills, or exploring new interests. It's about living independently: managing a home, staying healthy, voting, and accessing opportunities like employment or volunteering.

At Discovery, you'll find more than a job—you'll find purpose, belonging, and the support to thrive. Your voice matters, your wellbeing is valued, and your development is encouraged. Together, we make a meaningful difference every day—for the people we support and for each other.
