Job summary

Shooting Stars Nursery in Kings Norton, Birmingham, is seeking a Senior Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The role is full-time (40 hours per week) with a competitive hourly rate of £14.60 and a 50% childcare discount.

You will support the Room Leader, build strong relationships with children and families, and contribute to high-quality provision. The ideal candidate holds a Level 3 Early Years qualification, has EYFS experience, and can mentor colleagues while promoting safeguarding and

What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior Nursery Practitioner, you will:

• Support the Room Leader in delivering exceptional care and education.


• Act as a Key Person, building strong relationships with children and families.


• Plan and implement engaging learning experiences in line with the EYFS.


• Observe, assess and support children's learning and development.


• Help maintain a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.


• Support, guide and mentor colleagues, apprentices and students.


• Promote inclusive practice and support children with additional needs.


• Build positive partnerships with parents, carers and professionals.


• Champion safeguarding, health and safety, and high-quality practice.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.


• Experience working within an Early Years setting.


• Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development.


• Excellent communication and organisational skills.


• A positive, professional and enthusiastic approach.


• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

Desirable

• Experience supporting or mentoring colleagues.


• Experience working with SEND.


• Experience of Ofsted inspections.


• Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene or Safeguarding qualifications.
